This is my picture for :iconfacetaiheiyo:. I have mixed feelings about the piece itself but let me explain the background story first...

Averic, the black male and Tyraleen, the white female, are siblings, who fell in love with each other. I don't know much about their story but I thought it's a very nice theme.
They share a hard realtionship and I'm sure they can't be with each other as they want to so I drew them separated.

Averic is howling out a love song on black and cliffy mountains out in the cold night. In the background you can see some big grassy hills -- the ones Tyraleen's on and in her background picture there are Averic's mountains.

The northern ligh (aurora) is in both picture. I wanted to keep his part more dark and her's covered in light colors like blue and lilac.. too bad because you can't see the aurora very good anymore ^^;


About my mixed feelings.. Both are wolves and so I tried to draw them not in my usual comic style but also not realism. I ended up with.. well.. I dunno. I erased some outlines, replaced them with fuzzy fur and all and tried to keep the wolf anatomy a wolf anatomy. And I think that's why Tyraleen looks so odd to me.
Her head was actually bigger and the legs shorter. Just like some wolves on my reference pictures. But it looked SO odd. I mixed her with my comic style and oh well. I think I messed her up :hmm:

I really liked Tyraleen at the beginning but now... maybe it's also because I'm kind of "fed up". Worked long on this picture, especially on her part.


I spent less time on Averic. And I must say that I like how he turned out. The fur looks pretty nice for some of my first attempts I think =)
(Is he too dark for your screens? I see fur details..)

It's okay when a picture on which I spent much of time doesn't turn out like I wanted it to and it looks like the background is half-butted done even if it took me some time. But this usually happens with picture I draw for others.. :o
I don't know what's wrong.

I'm kind of sorry, ~FaceTaiheiyo. I hope you still like it somehow. If something's wrong or if you're unsatisfied - please let me know.
After all.. it's very important for me that both trade partners are happy and don't feels "betrayed " ;P :hug:

I think it looks very nice. The black wolf is very good looking in here, mostly because the pose and the colours on the background fit very well together.

Also, I still love how you use these textures on the pictures. Makes them look different, and that difference is what I like. ^^
